Enterprise Agreements Queensland Health

ASMOFQB was contacted by members of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Queensland to negotiate the first enterprise agreement comprising medical officers employed by RFDS Queensland Sections. The following rewards and agreements apply to Queensland Health employees: Primary employment conditions for the majority of Queensland Health employees are prescribed by rewards and agreements. The Palaszczuk government is currently negotiating a series of new collective agreements for the public sector with public sector unions. When QLD Health made its first bid in September of last year, it took no real action on many EEA members` issues. It was only when thousands of AWU members gathered across the state, took action and demanded a better offer that QLD Health finally came to the table with a better offer, including backfilling, moral harassment and health and safety measures in the workplace. The Fair Work Commission can also help employers and workers who are embarking on the “New Approaches” program. Learn more about the new approaches on the Fair Labour Commission website. The ASMOFQ team, in collaboration with our legal partner HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, has the capacity and expertise to provide specialized services, advice and representation of interests in all labour and labour relations issues affecting WADA Queensland employees. We represent Chief Medical Officers (SMOS), Established Medical Officers (RMOs), Registrars, Guest Physicians (VMOs) and International Medical Graduates (IMG) employed by the Queensland Hospital and Health. While the awards are presented by the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC), agreements are negotiated by Queensland Health and Queensland Health staff representatives. After the agreement of the staff members covered by the proposed agreement (as part of a voting procedure), the agreements are certified by the QIRC. As in our first term, the government negotiates in good faith to reach agreements that provide fair and fair wages and conditions.

Our Workplace Relations Team has the ability and expertise to offer specialized health professionals, counseling and advocacy in all labour and labour relations that concern WADA Queensland staff. We represent resident medical officers (RMOs), senior medical officers (SMOS) and visitors (VMOs) at Mater Hospital with private hospitals.
